Parshuram Kund

Located on the banks of the Lohit River, about 45 km from Tezu, Parshuram Kund is one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most sacred pilgrimage sites. According to Hindu mythology, it is the place where Sage Parshuram washed away his sins after beheading his mother at his father’s command. The holy waters of the kund (natural pool) are believed to purify the soul and free one from past wrongdoings.

Every year during Makar Sankranti (January 14 – 15), thousands of devotees and visitors from across India and neighbouring countries gather here to take a holy dip and seek blessings. The site, surrounded by misty hills and dense forests, also offers breathtaking views and a calm environment for travellers and pilgrims alike. With its spiritual significance and natural beauty, Parshuram Kund stands as a symbol of faith, forgiveness, and renewal — making it a must-visit destination on the Namsai–Wakro–Tezu tourism circuit.
